Sculpted Snow

Raging winds, which prevail above treeline, form delicate patterns in the lingering snow that clings to the tundra. High-elevation winds can easily reach hurricane force. This image was captured after a November snow storm, which dropped up to 18 inches at lower elevations in the park.
